On April 28, 2023 the photography students of Chagrin Falls High School visited three locations for their final project. This included Burton Century Village, Best Sand, and The Maple Festival. The Burton Century Village is known for it's farm animals, apple orchards, and interesting historic buildings. The buildings and workers teach the visitors about Ohio in the late 19th century, and there are many historical artifacts from the time period as well. The second location, Best Sands, is a large quarry meant for processing sand that is distributed throughout the world. The students were given a tour of the quarry itself and the processing plant nearby. Lindsay Schumacher, a junior at Chagrin Falls, states, "The best part of the whole day was going to Best Sands, I enjoyed seeing the quarry and the huge machinery". Lastly, the students visited The Maple Festival, located in the center of Chardon. This festival featured many carnival rides, food stands, and craft shows. At the craft show, there were numerous vendors selling a range of jewelry, sweets, and maple syrup. Here, the students were eager to photograph the excitement of the festival and the various foods that were on display. Overall, this was a great opportunity for students to showoff their photography skills and learn about these locations.
