by Haley Sferra On a snowy December day, the students of the Chagrin Falls High School photography classes braved the cold and took a trip to downtown Cleveland. With hopes of capturing interesting pictures of the Flats, Public Square, and the Rockefeller Gardens, the students braved the cold, grabbed their cameras, and explored the city. At the first stop, students quickly moved off the bus and into the deep snow, with different kids in every direction snapping pictures of everything in site, it was apparent that great photos were being taken. Once again, at Public Square, the students emerged from the bus and all headed in opposite directions. With hours to shoot only 24 pictures, some kids chose to explore the streets whereas others found shelter in Tower City and the Old Stone Church. As Christmas music played all around, none of the photographers noticed the displays in store windows, giant Christmas trees, or shopping destinations. They all seemed to have one thing on their mind; taking interesting and exciting pictures. Reluctantly, everyone got back on the bus and left for their final stop. At first, the students seemed skeptical of the Rockefeller Gardens, however, once inside, one could see the obvious excitement on their faces. Moving from room to room, never moving their cameras away from their faces, the students captured many pictures of the various poinsettias, cacti, shrubbery, and other flowers. As the students loaded the bus for the last time, everyone began showing the countless number of pictures they had taken, remarking on how fun the day in Cleveland was. One student described, "It was fun to take pictures of something so interesting, since you never really get to go somewhere like this on your own!" Now that the students have taken their pictures, they will download and edit them for a final grade.
